Students in the Sculpture and the Environment class work collaboratively to design and build site responsive creative seating solutions. Each team focuses on their location’s natural characteristics along with the traffic flow of visitors, as well as the characteristics of the surrounding built environment. These site-specific considerations provide a starting point for students to explore how their project can complement and/or contrast the physical site while activating public space.
Additional information on the class content related to environmental ethics, environmental art, and the collaborative partnership with the Barnes Arboretum can be accessed here.
